First Place:

Annie McNamara Evans Memorial Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute - Boston, MA

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a leader in cancer research and care, and the Annie McNamara Evans Memorial Fund at Dana-Farber is a critical part of this mission.  Annie’s Fund supports research to prevent or reverse disease relapse, the leading cause of death in patients receiving stem cell transplants for acute leukemia.  This includes helping physician-researchers answer questions about the disease, hasten the pace of studies, and lead the way to better outcomes for patients and their families everywhere.   In this way, it also serves as a wonderful legacy for Annie, a woman who the Boston Globe described as a “leader by doing” who “worried about others more than herself”.
